Hell Ride Poem

Devil Went Up To Canada

By Jimmy Jost aka Head-Cheesehead circa 2002

The devil went up to Canada
He was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind
And he was willing to make a deal

When he came across this hellrider
Riding on the machine and runin it hot
And the devil jumped up on the trail
And said, "Boy let me tell you what

"I guess you didn't know it
But I'm a snowmobiler too
And if you'd care to take a dare
I'll make a bet with you

"Now you ride a pretty fast trail, boy
But give the devil his due
I bet a snowmobile of gold against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you"

The snowmobiler said "I'm a hellrider
And it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet and you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best that's ever been"

Hellrider heat up that snow
And ride your machine hard
'Cause Hell's broke loose in Canada
And the devil deals the cards

And if you win
You get this shiny snowmobile made of gold
But if you lose
The devil gets your soul

The devil opened up his trailer
And he said "I'll set the pace"
And fire flew from his exhaust pipes
As he down the tail he raced

As he reved the engine down the trail
it made an evil hiss
With a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this

When the devil finished the hellrider said
"Well you're pretty good, old son
But sit down on that machine right there
And let me show you how its done"

{Refrain}
Fire on the trail, run boys run
The devil's will be ridin with the rising sun
Hellrider's in the front packin the snow
Watch out for the turn, go man go

The devil bowed his head
Because he knew that he'd been beat
And he placed that golden snowmobile
On the trail at the hellriders feet

The hellrider said "Devil, just come on back
If you ever wanta to run
But I told you once, you son of a bitch
Hellriders are the best that's ever been"

He said...
{Refrain}
Fire on the trail, run boys run
The devil's will be ridin with the rising sun
Hellriders in the front packin the snow
Watch out for the turn, go man go
