Bobby is Jimmy's right-hand man (please don't ask what that means exactly). Friends for life, Bobby and Jimmy are inseparable and its been suggested by one of Jimmy's x-wives that they should be boyfriends. ...We'll keep you posted. Bobby is the other catalyst that keeps the group going and keeps us motivated. Bobby has years of sledding and crashing under his belt and can do amazing things on a sled--some on purpose, some by accident. He's a great teacher and gets people to try the sport every chance he gets. Bobby's also the king of snowmobile and snowmobiling stories. If its funny and it happened, Bobby remembers it and can tell the story way better than when it actually happened. Over the last 15-20 years, Bobby's seen it all from his dumb-ass friends: up trees, off cliffs, rolls, submerges, breakdowns--sober and drunk stunts. Our favorite Bobby story is when his throttle stuck and he let his sled ghost-ride across his Milwaukee neighborhood, leaving it for dead. (If you ever recognize him in a U.P. bar, ask him to tell the story) Bob's got a lot of nicknames and is the genesis of "F-BoB" so we better get into some of the names: Bob spent some years as a Polaris mechanic so he's also known as "Toolman Bob." He's pretty-much worked on all of our sleds--even the Ski-Doos, Arctic Cats and Yamahas. (If you ever want to see something funny, watch Bobby and Jimmy work a room trying to tilt the Polaris vs. Ski-Doo scales to their favor... hilarious.) ANYWAY, it's amazing what he can do with a monkey wrench, a hammer and a can of WD40. We can't forget "Truckdriver Bob" because that's what he does for a living... This nickname leads to the nickname of "Phonetalker Bob" for obvious reasons... Never give your work phone number to a truck driver! Bobby also gained the nickname "Pig Pen" when he put his Brand New Polaris (including brand new Polaris snowmobile suit) into the big mudhole in early 2001. It's hard to appreciate the epic event this was, but lets put it this way: Bobby started polishing his new Polaris with a diaper in August that year. Like in Spinal Tap, he told us "Don't touch it...don't even look at it..." Then during the first trip out,, he put it in the big drink and ended-up knee-deep in 3 feet of muddy water. Priceless. And finally, unless you are one of us, you probably found this website out of curiosity about F-BoB. Well, we won't get into it here but be sure to visit the F-BoB Page. In short, this Bob is F-Bob. |
