Official SnowmobileRiders Affilate / Visitor

FPBEERCATS, MN

SnowmobileRiders: I recently found your site on the web. Great site--looks like your group and our group have much in common.

We are all from Minnesota, mostly near Minneapolis, one guy from Rochester. The name of our gang is The FPBEERCATS. We have stickers and try to mark all the bars and restaurants in the UP and Minnesota.

The core of our group is 4 guys, although we sled with 6-8 guys quite a bit--it seems the 4 of us are the most hard-core. We all drive ZR600s, 98, 2000, 2001 and brand new 2002. We have been sledding together for the last 5-8 years depending on who you talk to. 3 out of the 4 of us can sled right from our house if there is enough snow, but each year we go to the UP at least once and in the past couple years more then once.(no snow in MN).

In the UP we have been all over, normally we chase the snow, but we have stayed in Gwinn, Marquette ,Ironwood, Houghton, Tivolia, but our favorite place to stay and ride is the Lake Gogebic area. One of our trips is planned for Wed Jan 14th--we leave Mpls and drive to Lake Gogebic and stay at Gogebic lodge. That next day we are planning a "Hell" ride. We are going to go from the lake all the way to Copper Harbor and back in the same day, that's about 175 each way. The most we have done in one day is 250 and that is a LONG day. But we figure if we get a good night sleep and catch the trails during the week and early we should be able to rock and roll, just don't stop for beer and burgers on the way there, but for sure on the way back.

It would be fun to meet up with you guys sometime. We are all in our early to mid 30s, 3 out of 4 married. I noticed on your site that someone was asking about those dates that we will be up there. If you guys go, we could have a beer or pop or whatever and then ride.

If you are up there and see 4 ZR600s, one black and three green that is us.

My nickname is Cougar(old sled) we also have Zirt, Wrench and Munch in our group, obviously all nicknames for one reason or another.

Take care and maybe the FPBEERCATS will meet up with the F-BOBS someday!!!
